Dan-ag: Journal of Educational Studies is the official research journal of the School of Education, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan. It provides a scholarly platform for educators, researchers, school leaders, graduate students, and other education professionals to share research that contributes to educational knowledge, policy, and practice.

OUR STORY
Dan-ag was originally published as the research publication of the School of Education. For many years, its issues were available primarily in print and did not have a dedicated digital publication platform. The journal is now being relaunched to preserve its scholarly history while providing a more accessible, organized, and sustainable online platform for future issues. The digital relaunch begins with Volume 5, Issue 1. The relaunch also strengthens the journal’s editorial procedures, independent peer-review system, research-integrity standards, author resources, and digital publication practices.

The name Dan-ag evokes light, illumination, and the beginning of a new day. It represents the journal’s commitment to bringing educational experiences, ideas, and evidence into clearer view. The torch used in the journal’s visual identity reflects this same purpose: knowledge that illuminates, research that guides, and education that transforms.

Dan-ag envisions becoming a credible and accessible scholarly journal that advances educational research and supports the continuing improvement of teaching, learning, leadership, and educational practice.
Dan-ag provides an academic platform for the responsible dissemination of educational research. It seeks to connect research with practice, support emerging and established scholars, encourage ethical and methodologically sound inquiry, and contribute to conversations addressing educational needs in local, national, and wider contexts.

Dan-ag aims to disseminate relevant and methodologically sound educational research.
It seeks to encourage educators and researchers to transform completed studies, theses, dissertations, institutional research, and classroom or school-based inquiries into publishable scholarly articles.
The journal supports research that informs teaching, learning, curriculum development, assessment, leadership, inclusion, policy, and educational innovation.
It promotes responsible authorship, ethical research, constructive peer review, scholarly dialogue, and research integrity.
Dan-ag also seeks to increase the visibility and accessibility of educational research produced within Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan and by contributors from other institutions and professional communities.
All submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening for relevance to the journal, originality, scholarly quality, research ethics, anonymization, and compliance with the author guidelines.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded for independent peer review. Dan-ag follows a double-anonymous review process in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed from one another.
The final decision to accept, request revision, or decline a manuscript rests with the journal’s authorized editorial team. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Dan-ag welcomes submissions from faculty members, teachers, school leaders, researchers, graduate students, practitioners, and other professionals whose work contributes to the field of education.
Recent studies completed within the last three years may be considered, including theses, dissertations, action research, institutional research, and funded studies. These works must be prepared as journal articles and must not have been previously published as substantially similar journal articles.
Student-derived manuscripts should be submitted with the knowledge and approval of the research adviser and all individuals who qualify for authorship.
Dan-ag is being relaunched through a digital-first publication platform. Articles and complete journal issues will be made available through the official journal website.
The journal initially follows an annual publication schedule, with one regular issue released per volume. Additional or special issues may be considered depending on the availability of suitable manuscripts and the approval of the publisher and editorial team.
Dan-ag publishes one regular issue annually. The journal may publish an additional special issue in connection with the International Teacher Education Research Conference (TERC), subject to the availability of suitable manuscripts and the approval of the publisher and editorial team.
Manuscripts considered for a TERC special issue must undergo the journal’s regular editorial screening, research-integrity evaluation, and double-anonymous peer-review process. Conference presentation or acceptance does not automatically guarantee publication in Dan-ag.

The primary language of publication is English. Manuscripts written in Filipino, Cebuano/Bisaya, or another language relevant to the study may be considered subject to editorial evaluation and the availability of qualified reviewers and language editors.
All accepted manuscripts must include an English title, abstract, and keywords to support discoverability and indexing.
